SeaWilding, the Fundació Alive and Ecocean form a consortium for the EmpordàRestore project, which will apply the PCCR technique of capturing, rearing and releasing post-larvae to restore the fish populations of the Empordà coastline.
The project combines restoration technology with the formal cooperation of l'Estartit's artisanal fishing community and a citizen-science programme, and has the backing of the local community, the territory's protected areas and a six-member scientific committee.
EmpordàRestore has been submitted to the TASC-RestoreMed call, under the EU Mission 'Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030'. The decision is pending.
